Sunday April 25th was drive your classic car day and we did .

We drove to Llanarmon-yn-ial in Wales were we had booked Sunday lunch. The drive was very pleasant although we did have rain on the way down and yes fools that we are we had our hoods down so we had to drive a fair way before we could stop and put them up again. We arrived at the Raven Pub and had enough time for a drink before we sat down to enjoy the best beef (Welsh of course),after lunch Bob played the pubs piano which amused the locals. The Raven was closed down by the brewery so all the people of the village got together and bought it and now run it between themselves and what a good job they are doing, good luck to everyone there.

First let me welcome new member John Taylor who joined us this month . Well done to Sue and Bob for organizing our run around the Wirral on Sunday 20th June fathers day and My birthday, unknown to me Sue had baked a cake complete with candles (and yes I believe the local fire brigade had been put on stand-by because there were so many of them). We stopped at Royton park for what I thought was a coffee break but no, while I was off looking at other cars in the car park,Sue got the cake out and Bob got his portable piano out and everyone sang happy birthday, and yes I was lost for words for once,Diane went round with the Bucks Fizz, thank you all for a great day.We then carried on to the Devon Doorway which Bob picked because of my roots and had Sunday lunch. Next trip out our canal cruise then on for lunch.

Something different this weekend, a cruise on the canal abroad the Jungle Queen. The weather was dull at first and it did rain half way along but that didn't matter, The sun did show it's face so we sat on deck and enjoyed the two hour trip it was so peaceful I can understand why people buy their boats. After we left Captain Dan and First Mate Laura we had our lunch in Guys Thatched Inn which was very good.
